Outpatient Therapy

Introduction

Outpatient therapy services, also known as counseling, are integral to the healing process for youth and their families.

Therapy assists youth and their parent/guardians to understand their mental health condition, learn coping skills, and work through situations that arise as a result of the mental health condition.

Substance Use

Youth with substance abuse issues benefit from treatment directly related to the substance use. This treatment is also offered in the form of therapy.

Therapy can be offered as individual, family, and/or group therapy depending upon each youth's individual situation and needs.

Parent Involvement

Therapy is most successful when the youth and parent/guardian are consistent with appointments. Consistency in visits allows for a predictable pattern to problem solving and addressing issues. Therapy may be scheduled weekly, every other week, or monthly. Most sessions are scheduled for one hour.
