In 2018 City Council adopted A Green Infrastructure Plan for Norfolk that will help the city 'design the coastal community of the future' by using its natural assets to improve environmental and community health and to protect infrastructure, such as roads and buildings. The plan is the culmination of a two-year effort to evaluate the current conditions and to map and plan for Norfolk's green infrastructure. Community partners, city agencies, and members of the public came together over the course of the two years to create the strategies for this plan.
