The Norfolk Police Department and the Life Enrichment Center of Norfolk, have partnered for an incredible "PLUS," Police Leadership Unveils Success. From Norfolk's Top Cop to the City's patrol officers, we believe in the promise of our youth.

Literacy Mentors

Officers serve as literacy mentors at Title 1, Norfolk Public Elementary schools, one hour per week, for the entire school calendar year. Positive relationships between the officers and youth will garner goodwill for years to come, Chief Goldsmith explains, "We know there isn't much you can do if you aren't able to read, and therefore we are committed along with the LEC, to affect literacy in Norfolk."
