Norfolk Cares Receives Special Treat
“I want to stop by the Norfolk Cares operations center and give them some treats to let them know I really think the world of what they do!” Those were the words of a Norfolk resident who calls in to Norfolk Cares often and, in her words, “always provides me with excellent customer service and assists me with anything I need to know.” That’s the goal of Norfolk Cares: to be a single point of contact for visitors, residents and businesses to request a city service, report a concern, seek information about Norfolk, or follow-up on a previous request. The staff is in constant contact with individuals by way of phone calls, emails and now through the MyNorfolk app. They keep up with a monthly average of 12,000 phone calls, 4,000 outgoing calls, 10,000 online requests, 5,000 mobile requests and 1,000 emails along with participating 5 monthly civic engagement promotions. As, you can see, they are always hard at work! We believe this is worthy of not only a well deserved treat from a thankful resident, but a “Job Well Done” on behalf of all those who use Norfolk Cares!
