Supports & Services
A variety of supports and services are available through Infant & Toddler Connection of Norfolk (ITCN). Some are considered entitled (or required) services if they are listed on your child's IFSP. This means that ITCN must make them available to your family. Every family enrolled in ITCN will automatically receive Service Coordination services.
All services are delivered in the child's natural environment. This means the providers will come to the child's home, park, library, or other places where you and your child regularly spend time. The providers will coach you and any other caregivers present to help you find ways to further your child's development during your daily activities. Services may be provided in a childcare setting; however, this will require a series of meetings that include you, your childcare provider, and the IFSP team to determine the appropriateness and feasibility of this option.
Types of entitled services may include (but are not limited to):
- Speech-Language Pathology
- Developmental Services
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Vision Services
- Assistive Technology Devices and Services
- Sign Language and Cued Language Services
Some services are guaranteed to be provided to the family at no cost. These services include:
- Service Coordination
- Eligibility Determination
- IFSP Development and Reviews
Other services listed on the IFSP will be billed to insurance with your permission. For services not covered by insurance, we have a generous fee scale. Click on the link to open the document, "Family Cost Share Fee Scale" (PDF).
Children who are covered by Medicaid insurance will have all of their services provided at no cost to the family.
Children who are covered by Tricare insurance will not have any co-payments for Occupational, Physical or Speech therapy services. Developmental Services may incur a cost to the family based upon our generous sliding fee scale.
Families will never be charged more than their insurance co-payment or deductible for covered services (Occupational, Physical, and/or Speech Therapy). Developmental Services may incur a cost to the family based upon the generous sliding fee scale. Families will only be responsible for co-pays or deductibles up to the Family Cost Share amount.
