A deck of any size or height requires zoning approval and a building permit.
Items Required for Review
- Survey or aerial photograph showing the proposed deck, porch or addition:
- Distances to all property lines
- General Permit application
- A set of construction drawings or a complete PDF file, if emailing that includes but is not limited to:
- Footing, foundation, and framing plan
- Deck cross-section plan
- Deck joist and beam size and spacing
- Stair details (if necessary)
- Handrail and guardrail details (if necessary)
- You will need to create a project in the Permit Portal, complete the permit application, and upload all information and documentation via the portal.
- For discrepancies or clarification in your application, we will reach out via email.
- Once the site plan and construction plans are approved, we will notify you and request payment.
