Annual Events to Look Out For

The Great American Cleanup

From March 1 to May 31, you can call yourself a part of this nation-wide volunteer movement by organizing or attending a litter cleanup. Just tell us where and when you're cleaning, and we'll provide you with everything you need to make a positive impact on our community. Bring together friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, etc. or clean solo!

The International Coastal Cleanup

Every September and October, thousands of ICC cleanups take place around the world. But, these aren’t your average cleanups! Volunteers will use tracking sheets to record the types and amount of litter found to help understand the root causes of litter.

Clean the Bay Day

Each year, on the first Saturday of June, thousands of Virginians gather to remove harmful litter and debris from the watershed's green spaces, roadsides, rivers, and streams. In partnership with The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, this true Virginian tradition is an annual opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to give back to their local waterways.
