Project Updates

Starting the week of Nov. 10, 2025, the Campostella Bridge Rehabilitation Project enters the final phase as contractors rebuild the center median on the bridge. 

  • Two lanes of traffic will be open in both directions. 
  • All turn movements to and from Campostella Rd. at Kimball Ter., Filmore St., and Wilson Rd. will be available. 
  • This final phase and project should be complete by mid-December 2025 (weather permitting).

Project Information

This project will repair the Campostella Bridge's key structural deck components, install a new latex modified concrete overlay, and apply weatherproofing to deck elements. 

The scope of work will consist of structural repairs to expansion joints, structural repairs to the curb, sidewalk and railing, new latex modified concrete deck overlay, and new reflective lane markings.

Construction began on November 6, 2023. 

Traffic Management

  • Construction will take place Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Off-duty police and flaggers will assist with traffic.
  • Motorists should expect alternating lane closures and intermittent traffic stoppages. 
  • Alternating lane closures and traffic shifts will remain in place 24/7. 
  • Traffic lanes approaching the bridge will taper and merge.
  • Phase 1 (Duration approximately 3 months): Inside lanes on northbound and southbound bridges closed. Outside lanes on northbound and southbound bridges open. 
  • Phase 2a (Duration approximately 6 months): Northbound bridge closed. One lane northbound and two lanes southbound on southbound bridge open. 
  • Phase 2b (Duration approximately 6 months): Southbound bridge closed. Two lanes northbound and one lane southbound on northbound bridge open.
  • Phase 3 (Duration approximately 4 months): One lane open southbound and two lanes open northbound. 
  • Phase 4 (Duration approximately 1-2 months): Two inside lanes in each direction will be closed while contractor installs medians. 

Public Notifications

Message boards will be displayed announcing traffic pattern changes ahead of time. 

Public outreach began Spring 2023. Traffic pattern changes and major activities will be announced on this webpage, NextDoor, by email to nearby civic leagues/Southside Task Force, and via the project update email list. Surrounding residences and businesses received two mailers via USPS. A media release also preceded the start of construction.
