NORFOLK, Va. – There's a lot of fun happening this weekend, which means Downtown Norfolk will be busy.
The Savannah Bananas will take over Harbor Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for all the Banana Ball fun for three sold-out games. There will be increased traffic downtown during the games and alternate travel plans are encouraged. The City of Norfolk has worked with Hampton Roads Transit to provide FREE light rail and ferry service to the Savannah Bananas games! Fans can show their game ticket for free rides.
Also taking place this weekend is the 41st annual Jazz Festival at Town Point Park which will bring thousands of music patrons on Friday and Saturday. Festival patrons are encouraged to use Brambleton Ave. to St. Paul's Blvd. or to Boush St. to avoid heavy congestion along Waterside Dr. due to the Savannah Bananas at Harbor Park.
We understand that these events may cause traffic congestion and parking limitations. We appreciate your patience and will be working diligently to ensure everyone gets to their destinations as swiftly as possible.
