[ARCHIVED] NACC + IKEA = Perfect Pairing

Looking to complete your home? Look for a pet!

NORFOLK, VA – Can’t quite picture how a pet would look with your new furniture? Norfolk’s IKEA showroom makes it easy!

Check out life-size cardboard cutouts of dogs, cats, bunnies and even a snake posed in home environments that invite you to relax with family members, including the furry ones. Each cardboard cutout on display at IKEA features a QR code linked to adoptable animals here at the Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Animals featured in the cutouts are all alumni of NACC.

“We are delighted for this opportunity to showcase all the loving, adoptable animals here at NACC, from those that have found their families to those that are still waiting,” said NACC Bureau Manager Michelle Dosson.

The campaign was first launched at IKEA stores in Arizona and Singapore in 2014. The promotion at the Norfolk store runs through May 31.

NACC hosts virtual adoption counseling and in-person meet and greets with adoptable animals. Check our website at www.norfolk.gov/nacc to find information about all NACC offers, from adoptable animals to volunteer and fostering opportunities.
