NORFOLK, VA – Norfolk City Council will hold electronic meetings on April 14 and April 28 to reduce the potential exposure to coronavirus.  The Formal meetings will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber located on the 11^th floor of City Hall.   The Formal meetings will not include “new business” agenda.  Informal meetings are canceled.

In order to comply with state and federal recommendations, occupancy in the Council Chamber will be limited.

Anyone who wishes to submit a comment and not attend the meeting may participate by phone or email by following these steps:

1. Email ccouncil@norfolk.gov or call 664-4253 and leave a name and a phone number.  A staff member will call back.    
2. For email comments: provide name, agenda item and comment.  The Clerk will read the comment into the formal record at the meeting
3. To participate by phone: either email or call 664-4253 and provide name, agenda item and phone number.  A member of the Clerk’s staff will call when Council reaches the agenda item and place the caller on speaker in the chamber.

Comments will be limited to agenda items only.

Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander declared a local state of emergency on March 13, 2020 and restrictions have been put into place to reduce exposure to the Coronavirus/COVID-19.  City leadership will continue to actively monitor COVID-19 and assess city operations based on new developments.  For more information, visit  www.norfolk.gov.
