Give Your Input on the Future of Downtown Norfolk
Chart downtown’s course for the next decide and help decide how we get around
NORFOLK, VA – What’s your vision for the future of downtown Norfolk? How can we move people from point A to point B safely and efficiently whether they walk, ride, scoot or drive?
It is time to update Norfolk’s downtown plan and this year marks the 50th year Norfolk has created a plan that helps shape downtown. Downtown Update 2030 will provide strategies for keeping development, infrastructure, and services aligned with the vision for the City.
Multimodal Norfolk will provide the framework for both large and small transportation decisions and will help define the direction that Norfolk’s transportation system will take over the coming years.
The public is invited to provide their input on Downtown Plan 2030 and Multimodal Norfolk at two input sessions on March 12 at the Decker Half Moone Center.
- 8:30AM-10:30AM
- 5:30PM-7:30PM
In the past, Norfolk was able to revitalize Downtown because the plan connected to and drew from the strengths of the neighborhoods. Freemason and Ghent brought strength to the empty streets of Downtown. Now it is Downtown’s turn to leverage our strength and bring vitality to the NEON District, St. Paul’s Area, Fort Norfolk, and beyond.
Multimodal Norfolk includes a full redesign of the city’s public transportation system that will look at ways to improve the bus and transit system – and make it easier for all users to connect, including on foot, by bicycle or scooter and in vehicles.
