New Traffic Pattern Improves Safety in Lambert’s Point
Changes address residents’ concerns; parking enforcement to begin Monday

NORFOLK, VA – A new traffic pattern designed to help residents enter and leave their neighborhood has taken effect in Lambert’s Point.

Streets 39th through 42nd have changed from two-way to one-way traffic between Powhatan Avenue and Bowden’s Ferry Road. Parking on 40th and 42nd Streets has been permanently moved to the north side of the streets.

Parking normally allowed on the right side of the street will be prohibited on Thursdays from 7 a.m. through 4 p.m.

These new regulations improve traffic safety in the neighborhood and allow Waste Management vehicles to service containers safely and efficiently.

The city’s Transit Department worked with the neighborhoods to institute these changes. The city’s Parking Division issued warning tickets throughout January as the traffic pattern changed. Parking will issue citations beginning Monday, Feb. 3.
