ENGAGE Norfolk Connects Citizens with Opportunities to Serve the Community
The 4th Annual Engage Norfolk event will be at Norview High School on Feb. 9
NORFOLK, VA – The 4th Annual Engage Norfolk Volunteer and Civic Fair will be held from 1pm – 5pm on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Norview High School. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will include a CivicFair, featuring more than 100 nonprofit, civic and community organizations and opportunities to volunteer. Civic Workshops will provide attendees with information on how government works, how to lobby elected officials and more. Among this year’s Civic Workshops will be “Living with Water,” a workshop providing an update on Norfolk’s work in flood mitigation, green infrastructure, and stormwater management.
The event is sponsored by Norfolk City Councilwoman Andria P. McClellan, who represents Superward 6. Councilwoman McClellan notes, “This event is a great opportunity to get engaged and turn your passion into action. I encourage you to come out and connect with community organizations, our city leaders, and meet your state and local elected officials.”
