NRHA Opens Online Application for Housing Choice Vouchers

Norfolk, VA (Oct. 18, 2019) – Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) has gone completely digital with its Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV) application process and will be opening the waitlist for online applications for a limited time. On Wednesday, Oct. 30, qualified persons will be able to complete their application between 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at https://nrha.myhousing.com. After which time, the waitlist will again close.

NRHA will also accept applications as a reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities at Grandy Village Learning Center, 2971 Kimball Loop, Norfolk, Virginia, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. All persons in line by 1 p.m. will be permitted to complete the application.

HCV helps increase affordable housing choices for extremely low- and very low-income households by allowing individuals and families to choose privately owned rental housing. The rules and regulations of the HCV are determined by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Applicants may qualify at 50 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) and current residents of an Assisted Housing Community may qualify up to the 80 percent of the AMI.

*All persons in line by 1 p.m. will be permitted to complete the application.
