NORFOLK, Va. – It’s been a very busy winter at the Norfolk Animal Care Center’s (NACC) pet pantry and we need help restocking the cupboard so we can help pets and their families.
On Saturday, Feb. 1, NACC’s Waggin’ Wheels will be parked in front of the shelter (5585 Sabre Rd.) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a special “Stuff the Bus” drive-up and drop-off pet food donation drive. All residents have to do is drive up and shelter staff will be on hand to accept donations of dog and cat food, any flavor, any brand, wet or dry – as long as it’s new and unopened. No need to get out of the car!
And speaking of those generous donations, some of the shelter’s other most-needed items include new or gently used towels, blankets, toys, leashes and harnesses of all sizes. Perfect timing if residents are doing some winter cleaning and decluttering. Click here for a full list of items.
For those who can’t make it to this Stuff the Bus donation drive, help anytime by shopping the NACC Amazon Wish List.
This special Stuff the Bus event will also help support NACC’s on-site community Pet Pantry and the Waggin’ Wheels for Mobile Pet Pantry events returning in 2025. On the second Saturday of every month, Waggin’ Wheels will be at different locations across the City, bringing pet food, support and resources.
