[ARCHIVED] Inaugural ReUse Festival Celebrates Sustainability and Creativity

Repurpose, reinvent and reimagine

NORFOLK, Va. – Keep Norfolk Beautiful is excited to partner with Norfolk Public Libraryfor its first-ever ReUse Festival, a community event to promote sustainability, environmental stewardship and creative reuse. The ReUse Festival is Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library (111 W. Ocean View Ave.). 

The ReUse Festival brings together environmental organizations, local artists and makers to showcase innovative ways to repurpose materials and reduce waste. Attendees will participate in hands-on workshops, view upcycled art and explore a variety of ways to cut down on waste, conserve resources and create something new and meaningful. 

Festival highlights include composting, jewelry making and repair, basic repair hand sewing, plastic bag basket weaving, metal flower-making and more!

The ReUse Festival is free and family friendly. Most activities will be taking place at the Randi Marston Peterson Maker Studio, Youth Services Program Room and outside on the patio.
