NORFOLK, VA – Norfolk Public Library (NPL) will mark the end of the four-week Rosie Riveters “Future Leaders in STEM” program at the Downtown Branch at Slover with a celebration at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Speakers include Dr. Valerie Wiesner, Research Materials engineer in the Advanced Materials and Processing Branch at NASA Langley Research Center and AstraFemina mentor, and representatives from Verizon.
The Verizon-sponsored STEM program fosters confidence and critical thinking skills for school-aged children in kindergarten to eighth grade. The 42 participants designed and completed STEM projects that build the confidence and critical thinking abilities essential for navigating the unique challenges in STEM fields.
