Norfolk Public Schools, The City of Norfolk, MacArthur Center, and Other Partners in Education Make Sure Students are Ready for New School Year with Free Back-to-School Celebration
NORFOLK, VA – Norfolk Public Schools (NPS), the City of Norfolk and other partners in education will host the Unity in the Community, Back 2 School Celebration on August 19, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at MacArthur Center.
This back-to-school event will provide backpacks, school supplies, health screening information, preschool and kindergarten registration information, raffles, entertainment, and more for NPS’ students and families.
The goal is to give upwards of 2,000 students the tools and inspiration they need to be ready when school starts on August 28!
The Unity in the Community, Back 2 School Celebration is free and open to all NPS’ students and families. Bus transportation will be available to and from MacArthur Center on the event day. All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to ride the bus to and from the event.
A school supply drive to support the event is currently going on through August 18.
