NOTICE OF INTENT TO AMEND GRANT AGREEMENT WITH VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY

On or after July 7, 2025, the City of Norfolk will execute the attached Amendment to Grant Agreement [HK1] to add the Hague Constructed Wetland as an eligible project and accept additional funds for the project.
Purpose: To fund the Hague Stormwater Wetland project.
Location of Project: An excavated space between Brambleton and Fort Norfolk providing filtration of runoff.
Project Description: The goal of the project was to excavate a previously filled, low-lying area to construct a wetland feature between Brambleton Ave and the Hague, which provides water quality, flood reduction, and wildlife habitat benefits.
Project Completion Date: 6/30/2023
Public Comments: Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments to the Department of Public Works at healthyneighborhoods@norfolk.gov with the subject line "Hague Public Comment." All comments received by July 1, 2025 will be considered by the City of Norfolk prior to determining whether to proceed with the Amendment to Grant Agreement.
