- Shauniqua High: "My favorite family activity in City of Norfolk: Would be to attend Waterside no matter the day or time, there’s literally always something for us to do.. if not a festival just to eat have ice cream and ride Lime scooters.. If or when there’s an event or festival it’s even better.. like the Jazz Fest, over the weekend! It’s just always a good vibe and time on Waterside. Occasionally, my babies & I will catch the ferry to Harbor Park to catch a Tides games, my babies truly enjoy riding the ferry and seeing the mascot at the game, lol. Thank You, to City of Norfolk for caring about us and all that they do for their citizens & communities."
- Judith Stafford: "I have been enjoying Norfolk Jazz Festival since the beginning... I also enjoy taking grandkids to Grand Illumination Parade."
- Anthone Oates: "Being from out-of-state, I have no family in the area. But I have grown a family within the friendships that I have created while being in Norfolk. Our favorite activity in Norfolk is to try out the different restaurants. We 100% support local businesses especially if they serve food. I love going to the family owned businesses and being able to meet their families and enjoying their craft with them. Norfolk has a wide variety of different foods and cultures that are welcoming to a lot of us who aren’t natives of the area."
- Wayne Green: "My favorite family activity is kayaking on the Lafayette River. I have so many memories of my children growing up and paddling the Lafayette. This activity is relaxing and inexpensive. It is an activity that for me makes Norfolk so special."
