[ARCHIVED] Meet General Services' Gold Star Employee

Gold Star Employee

Aleta is a new parking supervisor who has already made an immediate impact on Parking Operations.

There was an event at Slover Library for the residents of Norfolk. This event was not on Parking's event schedule and parking accommodations (validations) were not made for attendees.

Once notified of the event, Aleta jumped into action by making sure there was a Customer Service Representative station at both Main St. Garage and The Hilton Garage. Her instructions to her team were clear and simple - if the guest ticket was not validated properly, assist the guest with exiting but keep the ticket for accounting.

Leaving no chance for error, Aleta personally went to the Main St. Garage to oversee the exiting process. While assisting guests, she had the opportunity to meet James Rogers from the City Manager's office and reassured him that no one would have issues with exiting.

Impressed by the pleasant and helpful customer service provided by Aleta and the team, Mr. Rogers and Neighborhood Services Director Kimberley Pierce took the time to email General Services Director Nikki Riddick to express their gratitude.

Aleta may be new to her role, but she's already setting a higher standard for service and there's no turning back for her, her team and Parking Operations.
