NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have arrested and charged a 32-year-old man following an overnight shooting on Campostella Road that left another man dead.
Police were called to the 1700 block of Campostella Road on March 13, 2024, around 1:00 a.m. for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found Nikemeon Brewer, 25, of Portsmouth, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Brewer was taken to the hospital for treatment where he later died from his injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Kevin E. Hayes, 32, of Chesapeake, has been charged with second-degree murder and use of firearm.
Hayes is currently being held without bond.
Detectives have not released any further details related to this homicide.
