[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested following Thursday evening vehicle pursuit

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man has been arrested and charged by Norfolk Police following a vehicle pursuit that lasted approximately 15 minutes, and ended in the City of Virginia Beach. 

On September 7th, around 6:48 p.m. investigators noticed a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of W. Princess Anne Road. The Investigators attempted to stop the vehicle, and the driver refused to stop. 

The Officers continued to pursue the car until the driver stopped on the 1-264 E, Witchduck Road exit and ran from the car. After a short foot pursuit, the driver was taken into custody at 7:05 p.m. 

As a result of the investigation, Detectives have charged Kimahni Lankford,23, of Norfolk, with the following: Possession of Ammunition by felon, possession of stolen property, and felony eluding.  

Lankford is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond. 

No injuries have been reported. Lankford
