[ARCHIVED] Suspect charged, 4 injured following early-morning shooting on Plume Street

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the shooting that left four people injured, including a Norfolk Sheriff’s Deputy.   

On August 5, 2022, around 1:15 a.m., Norfolk Police were called to the 200 block of Plume Street for the report of a shooting. Officers and a Deputy, who was working in a part-time capacity, responded. During the incident, the Deputy sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Officers located three men who were also suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The four victims were taken to the hospital for treatment and are expected to recover.  

As a result of the investigation, Norfolk detectives have charged Tyshawn M. Gray, 25, of Norfolk, with one count of aggravated assault on law enforcement, three counts of malicious wounding, four counts of use of a firearm, and one count of discharging a firearm in public.
