[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police seize over 200 pounds of marijuana, two men arrested

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police have arrested two men after seizing over 220 pounds of marijuana.

On June 1, 2022, around 1:40 p.m., police received a tip about a suspicious package that was delivered to the Berkley Supermarket at 201 E. Berkley Avenue. When investigators arrived on-scene, they discovered that the package was over 1 million dollars’ worth of marijuana. 

As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Lichuang Dai, and 32-year-old Jianfeng Ma have been charged with §18.2-248.1(a3), Penalties for sale, gift, distribution or possession with intent to sell, give or distribute marijuana and §18.2-248.01, Transporting controlled substances into the Commonwealth.  

Both are being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond. 

Police have not released any other details surrounding this investigation.
