[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police identify pedestrian killed in crash on N. Military Highway

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police are continuing to investigate a crash that left a 58-year-old woman dead.

On Sunday, May 15th, around 9:00 p.m., Norfolk Police responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 500 block of N. Military Highway. When officers arrived, they came in contact with a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. The woman, identified as Sharon D. Shields, of Norfolk, was pronounced deceased on-scene.

The driver involved in the crash remained on the scene. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.

This crash investigation is being handled by the Norfolk Police Departments Traffic Fatality Unit.
