[ARCHIVED] Charges pending following Monday’s incident at Lake Taylor High School

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9th, Officers responded to Lake Taylor High School for the report of a person with a weapon. When officers arrived on scene, they were advised that two male students were involved in a fight, and one of the students allegedly dropped a gun before picking it up and fleeing the school. Out of precaution, Lake Taylor High School and Lake Taylor School were placed on a lockdown.

During the investigation, detectives identified both students involved, and charges are pending for the assault. The investigation is on-going as it relates to the firearm on school property.

No injuries were reported during this incident.
