[ARCHIVED] Man dies following shooting on Shelton Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A Norfolk man has died following a shooting on Shelton Avenue.

On April 22, 2022, around 6:30 a.m. police responded to the 1400 block of Shelton Avenue for the report of a gunshot disturbance. While the officers were on-scene, they were advised that a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound following a crash in the 200 block of 35th Street. The man, later identified as Deonta A. Flythe Jr., 21, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

Detectives have not released a motive, or any additional circumstances surrounding this incident.
