[ARCHIVED] Pedestrian dies following late-night crash on Tidewater Drive

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man has died after being hit by a vehicle on Tidewater Drive near the intersection of Lafayette Boulevard.

On July 11, 2021, around 11:15 p.m., police were called to the 3200 block of Tidewater Drive for the report of a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. When Officers arrived, they found the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. 

The pedestrian, later identified as Jerone H. Walden,59, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

The preliminary investigation has determined the driver of a sedan was driving on Tidewater Drive, when Walden entered the road and was hit. 

This accident is being investigated by the Traffic Unit.
