[ARCHIVED] Suspect charged; man dies following shooting on E. Princess Anne Road

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A man is now facing charges in connection to Friday afternoon’s shooting that left another man dead.

On June 18, 2021, around 3:10 p.m. police were dispatched to 2338 E. Princess Anne Road for the report of a gunshot victim. When the officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. 

The man, Dante G. Southerland, 27, of Virginia Beach, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

As a result of their investigation, detectives have charged 28-year-old Breon R. Davis of Norfolk, with second degree murder and use of a firearm. 

Davis is currently wanted, and Norfolk Police are asking anyone with information about Davis’ whereabouts to please call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3 mobile app.

Detectives have not released the motive or circumstance surrounding this incident.Davis Wanted
