NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are continuing to investigate the overnight shooting that left a man dead.
Around 9:23 p.m. on May 27, 2021 police were called to the 6600 block of Paul Jones Lane for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they found 38-year-old Theron L. Hammond, of Hampton, suffering from a gunshot wound. Hammond was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police were notified a short time later that a second gunshot victim, a 27-year-old man, had arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by car. The man’s gunshot wound is considered to be non-life-threatening, and he is expected to be okay.
Detectives determined these two incidents are both related.
