NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) –Detectives are continuing to investigate a shooting that left several people injured over the weekend.
On May 23, 2021 shortly before 3:00 a.m., police responded to the 3100 block of Westminster Avenue for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located three people who were suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were all transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment and are expected to be okay.
A fourth gunshot victim arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by car shortly after, and it was determined that the gunshot wound was related to this shooting.
During the investigation at the scene, detectives learned that two homes in the 3100 block of Westminster Avenue had been hit by bullets. Two people who were inside of a home sustained graze wounds. Two additional people who were outside when the shooting happened also sustained graze wounds. Medical treatment was provided on scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a group of people were gathered outside in the street when a white car started to shoot as it drove by the group of people.
