[ARCHIVED] Man dies following hit-and-run crash on Tidewater Drive

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Detectives are continuing to investigate a hit-and-run accident that has left a 70-year-old man dead.

On January 23, 2021 around 2:00 p.m., police responded to the 7500 block of Tidewater Drive for the report of a person who had been hit by a vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that the man was crossing the street when he was hit by a silver or grey sport utility vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived.

The man, later identified as Bobby L. Olsen, was transported to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.  

Norfolk Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip using the P3Tips mobile app.
