[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Police have identified the man killed this morning as they search for the suspect.

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) - Detectives have identified the man who was fatality stabbed around 5:35 this morning on Bluestone Avenue as 48-year-old Samuel L. Wiggins of Norfolk.

Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of Bluestone Avenue where Wiggins was found with a life threatening stab wound. He was pronounced deceased on scene by medics.

As a result of the investigation, detectives have secured warrants for 49-year-old Gregory E. McDonald of Norfolk for second degree murder. McDonald is currently a fugitive and is considered armed and dangerous.

Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this homicide but ask for anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line.

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police are investigating a homicide after a man was found lying in the street with a stab wound early this morning.

Around 5:35 a.m., police were dispatched to the 3800 block of Bluestone Avenue after a citizen observed a man laying in the street. When first responders arrived, they found an adult man with a life-threatening stab wound. Medics pronounced him deceased on scene.

The identity of the man will not be released until his next of kin have been notified.

Detectives have not released any suspect information at this time and ask for anyone with information about this deadly incident to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
