NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – A Norfolk man has been arrested and charged with murder following a fatal stabbing on Church Street Thursday afternoon.
Around 1:40 Thursday afternoon, dispatchers received a call for a stabbing victim in the 1700 block of Church Street. When first responders arrived, they found 64-year-old Arthur D. Sanders Jr., suffering from a stab wound.
Sanders, of the 900 block of Saint Pauls Boulevard, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
As a result of the investigation, detectives have charged Edgar E. Oliver, 61, with second-degree murder. Oliver, of the 1800 block of East Little Creek Road, is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this stabbing.
