[ARCHIVED] Police arrest man for abducting a woman on N. Military Highway

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police arrested a 26-year-old man after he abducted a woman from a gas station earlier today.

Around 2:30 p.m., police were called to the Shell Gas Station located at 500 N. Military Highway for a possible abduction. When officers arrived, an employee stated that a man assaulted a woman and forcibly dragged her into a pick-up truck.  

The investigation revealed Malik Fortes assaulted and abducted Olivia Oliver, 25, and fled the area in a black Chevrolet pick-up truck. Police located the truck in the 1300 block of Kempsville Road and apprehended Fortes without incident.

At this time, detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding the incident.
