On January 31st, shortly after 11:00 p.m., Norfolk Fire-Rescue were on a service call in the 1200 block of East Princess Anne Road, when they were approached by a woman and her 6-year-old child.
The woman notified the paramedics that her daughter was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, and she needed medical help.
The child was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation reveals that while the mother and daughter were walking in the 3400 block of Hanbury Road, a white sedan drove by and shot a gun, injuring the child.
Norfolk Detectives are actively investigating this incident and are asking anyone with any information to contact the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
