[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police Investigate Homicide

Shortly after 8:00 this evening, Norfolk Police responded to reports of a possible gunshot victim in the 800 block of A Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by Norfolk Fire Rescue. At this time, detectives are classifying the investigation as a homicide, but have not released any suspect description. The man's identity will not be released, pending notification of next of kin. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
