NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested a man following a shooting in the Villa Heights neighborhood that left another man dead.
Norfolk Police were called to the 700 block of E 28th Street around 12:00 p.m. on September 15th for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The man, identified as Montario D. Johnson Jr., 19, of Norfolk, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Following the investigation, Detectives charged Pierre Delaigle, 19, of Virginia Beach, with second degree murder and use of a firearm. Delaigle is also facing additional charges unrelated to this homicide.
Delaigle was taken into custody on November 19th around 11:10 a.m. by Norfolk Police. He is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident have not been released.
