Norfolk Environmental Sustainability Manager Megan Hale has received the 2025 Clean Air Champion Award from Virginia Clean Cities, a U.S. Department of Energy-designated coalition that works to advance air quality improvement, economic opportunity and energy security through deployment of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure, education programs and other petroleum reduction activities.

Megan received this award for her work guiding the City of Norfolk to become one of the first localities to participate in the Charging Smart Project. This program awards communities for electric vehicle readiness. She was also honored for her service as a board member for the Virginia Green Travel Alliance and her leadership in planning the Hampton Roads Green Fleets Expo.

Those who have worked with Megan highlight her ability to manage complex projects with both strategic vision and meticulous attention to detail. She is known for balancing innovative ideas with a clear understanding of operational realities — an approach that consistently delivers impactful results.

Congratulations Megan!
