NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested a man following a shooting that happened on the campus of Norfolk State University.
On April 19th, around 11:30 p.m. Norfolk Police and Norfolk State University Police responded to the 2200 block of Presidential Parkway for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both men, age 22, were taken to the hospital for treatment and are expected to recover from their injuries.
Following their investigation, detectives have arrested Zakeyis Womack, 20, of Ringgold, Virginia.
Womack was taken into custody in Reidsville, NC in a coordinated effort by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Task Force and the North Carolina Regional Task Force.
Womack is currently being held without bond.

Detectives have not released any additional details about this shooting at this time.
