[ARCHIVED] Norfolk Police make arrest following homicide on Wide Street

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) –Detectives have arrested and charged a man in connection with a shooting early Saturday morning that left another man dead. 

Police were called to the 800 block of Wide Street on March 15th around 5:15 a.m. for the report of a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they found a man, identified as Terrance D. Moore, 37, of Norfolk, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. 

Moore was pronounced deceased at the scene from his injuries. 

As a result of their investigation, Detectives have charged Tayquan O. Gallop, 32, of Norfolk with second-degree murder, and use of a firearm. 

Gallop was taken into custody by Norfolk Police around 8:30 a.m. on March 15th in the 2800 block of Corprew Avenue.  

He is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond. 

Detectives have not released a motive or any additional circumstances surrounding this shooting.
