[ARCHIVED] Man dies following crash on Bluestone Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives are continuing to investigate a serious accident that happened Wednesday night on Bluestone Avenue.

Dispatchers received a call about a vehicle accident at the intersection of Bluestone Avenue and W 49th Street around 7:00 p.m. on October 25, 2023. When first responders arrived, they found two drivers who were both suffering from injuries.

The first driver, an 80-year-old man, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the other car involved was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation determined the 80-year-old man suffered a medical emergency while driving that caused him to loose control of his Dodge truck and hit the other car as well as a tree.

The mans identify will be revealed once his next-of-kin has been notified.
