Microsoft now requires the Microsoft Authenticator app when logging in to work accounts. This change applies to all Microsoft 365 products, including Teams, Outlook and OneDrive. The Authenticator app will replace SMS and phone calls for multifactor verification.
The change will occur on a rolling basis over six weeks, starting Sept. 15.
When you sign into your City work account, you may see a prompt to install the Authenticator app. Select "Next" to access the app setup.
