[ARCHIVED] Woman charged in connection with New Year’s Eve homicide of Norfolk preschool teacher

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – The Norfolk Police Homicide Unit has arrested and charged a local woman in connection with the murder of Caroline Hendrix, an Oceanair Elementary School teacher.

Preschool teacher fatally shot on New Year’s Eve

As a result of investigative efforts, Teniqu R. Cushman, of the 1300 block of Waterfront Drive, Virginia Beach, was charged today with one count of conspiracy to commit 2nd degree murder.

Cushman is the second person charged in the New Year's Eve homicide. 

On January 2, 2018 Edward A. Shaw, of the 600 block of S. Highway 89 in Sevier, Utah, was charged with one count of 2nd degree murder and one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

As this is an ongoing investigation, detectives have not released any other details surrounding her arrest. 

Cushman is being held at Norfolk City Jail without bond.
