Hermitage Museum and Gardens presents "Lugo: Pottery with Purpose"2022-06-10T18:00:00Beginning June 10th, 2022 the Hermitage Museum will feature ceramic artist Roberto Lugo for a four-month solo exhibition. Lugo is an artist, activist, educator, poet, and the founder of Village Potter. He is most recognized for his hand thrown ceramic work that contrasts traditional ceramic forms such as porcelain teapots and urns with subject matter that is culturally and politically motivated. The exhibition will focus on his work that celebrates and examines current and historic figures who have made an impact in social justice and race relation issues and reflect on his multicultural and BIPOC experiences.

Offsite Gallery exhibition "Places" by photographer Charles Rucker2022-09-02T17:00:00Join Norfolk Arts for an opening reception at their Offsite Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of MacArthur Center (across from the Governor's School for the Arts Origin gallery). Free and open to the public.
Photographer Charles Rucker aims to evoke a sense of joy and contentment while portraying the emotion of scenic encounters.
"Places" captures both the warmth and chill of the North Dakota landscape, the distinct beauty of the Southwestern Sonoran Desert and a reverence for vast prairie lands.
Parking is best at S2. Enter MacArthur Center from the main City Hall entrance. Proceed up the ramp to the 2nd level and turn right. The S2 entrance is directly straight ahead. After you enter MacArthur Center, turn left and the Offsite Gallery is a few doors up on your left.

d'Art Center presents "Divulge: d'Art's Second National Exhibition featuring the use of art for therapy and mental health awareness"2022-09-21T10:00:00Divulge features both 2D and 3D artworks from across the country of all mediums that highlight/depict self expression, are created in art therapy, and/or raises awareness of mental health.
Art has been used as a means of communication, self-expression, group interaction, diagnosis, and conflict resolution throughout history. Through art, both people and artists can look for themes and conflicts that may be affecting their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The establishment of art therapy as a unique and publicly accepted therapeutic approach only took place recently, in the mid-20th century.
This is a juried exhibition, and was co-curated by Gallery Manager and Center Curator, Amanda Bradley, and exhibition juror and artist Matthew Bernier.
The call reached 28 states. 80 artists submitted for a total of 295 submissions. The juror and center curator selected 62 pieces from 46 artists from 21 states!
