[ARCHIVED] Juvenile injured in overnight shooting on Lafayette Blvd

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk police are investigating a shooting that has left a juvenile injured late Sunday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., dispatchers received a call for a gunshot disturbance in the 2300 block of Lafayette Blvd. When police arrived, they located a 12-year-old boy inside of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound.

The boy was taken to the Children’s Hospital for The King’s Daughters for treatment. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Detectives have determined that shots were fired outside the residence prior to the injury.

There were no other injuries reported.
