On June 17 2015 shortly after 10:00 this morning, police were called to the intersection of East Brambleton Avenue and Church Street for a motor vehicle accident with injuries, hit and run, involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation reveals that two woman, who were not known to each other, were involved in a verbal argument earlier that morning. As one of the women were walking on the side walk at the intersection of East Brambleton Avenue and Church Street, a GMC Pick-up, driven by the other woman involved in the argument, ran up the curb, and struck the woman with the vehicle. The GMC then continued eastbound on East Brambleton Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported by paramedics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appears to be, at this time, non-life threatening injuries.

Police located the suspect vehicle near Park Avenue and Corprew Avenue a short time after the crash. Two people, a woman and man, have been detained and are being questioned by detectives.

No other information is available for release at this time.
