[ARCHIVED] Team Norfolk - Snow Forecast update (1/20/2022 at 9 am)

The original item was published from January 20, 2022 9:21 AM to January 20, 2022 9:23 AM

Team Norfolk,

As we continue to prep for the rain and snow, please find attached the latest forecast information from NWS Wakefield’s website.

First, it appears the amount expected dropped from 7.3” to 5.1”, still with the worst-case chance it could be 11”.  This info is available at their Probabilistic Snowfall Forecast site

The Hourly graph still shows rain coming in by this afternoon and then transitioning to snow by 5-6 pm.  Winds also begin to increase in the afternoon and temps begin to drop, dipping below the 32-degree mark around 1 am tonight.

Friday will see increased winds, freezing temps, and, as stated previously, once the snow begins today, the chance exists that it may not stop until around 8 am Saturday morning.

Stand by for more information.

Thanks!
